Some electrics were installed, including new lighting downstairs and some of the mains power cabling. The electrician had fitted the new consumer unit to the wall and provided a socket and light circuit. In doing so, he cut a deep trench through the (perfect) tiled floor in the entrance hall, ruining it. Plasterwork, painting and begining to lay a new cement floor in the dining room.
However, we felt limited in what we could do - not only did we not know where to start (there was so much to do) but because the roof was not being replaced until the end of the following summer, we were limited in the amount of work we could usefully do.
