Work on the facade and roof was completed in June and this was the first time we saw it for ourselves. It was great and the local people were pleased to see it improved.

We were at the house for four days, during which time we got hot water to the kitchen sink - the first time hot water has been at the house without it being boiled over an open fire or in a kettle! The remainder of the kitchen floor was laid with original tiles from the top-floor bedroom.

We started to lay large white floor tiles in the dining room, which really brightened up that area.

The large hot water heater was installed upstairs and the shower cubicle and drainage was put in place in the 'bedroom' (to be bathroom) on the first floor.

We put two glass roof tiles in the back roof, which created a huge amount of light at the back of the house and enabled us to start working in there. Imagine what it will be like with two large Velux!

The existing tile floor in the main bedroom was varnished a second time to seal it, further coats will toughen the coating. Cupboards were installed in this bedroom. In all, it was a good trip and the house felt more comfortable than ever before.
