It was great to walk in to the house and feel comfortable. Especially after the tough times we had at the house up until now. But that isn't to say it was plain sailing from here on in.

This time we plumbed the large hot water tank that will feed the shower on the first floor and the downstairs toilet, and put all the pipework in place. The shower tray and drainage is in place. There are a few minor leaks that will be sorted out next time.

We wired in the oven and hob in the kitchen and started working on the electrics on the third floor at the front of the house.

The old tile floor that has been relaid in the kitchen looks great. The back wall of the old fireplace in the kitchen has been replastered and has been improved. The floor in the main bedroom was varnished again and is now looking much cleaner.

We woke up on the last day to torrential rain and were devestated to see that, despite our work over summer to repair the old roof on the back, it was pouring water through both rooms and into the neighbour's property below. Mostly because it was running down the party wall and into his kitchen below our two floors. Before we left, we put buckets down and clambering onto the roof in the torrent at 7am had little effect. It had to be left until we can get the roof replaced next summer.
