August 2005

Driving down to Aude, we stopped off at Orange, a town dominated by its Roman remains. You can see the pictures of this in the Gallery.

At the house, we started serious work on the second floor level, concentrating on one room where a new window was broken through during the roof replacement.

We also started work on the landing area on the second floor, widening the opening to the staircase and plastering to mend a number of large holes that had formed after 25 years of water ingress.

On the first floor, we began the construction of the bathroom and started construction of a stud wall to partition it from the entrance to the bedroom. Here, we also started the installation of the toilet and bath.
